Reusable Sanitary Pads: A Sustainable Solution to Reduce Absenteeism

SPRODETA, in partnership with One Day’s Wages conducted training sessions at Ngoya Primary School for mother groups on how to make reusable sanitary pads.

Through this initiative, we have procured sewing machines and essential pad-making materials, including fleece, needles, and other start-up supplies. A specialist trainer has been engaged to equip the mothers with practical skills in producing safe, reusable sanitary pads.

This initiative aims to reduce absenteeism among menstruating students by improving access to affordable menstrual hygiene products.

By empowering mothers with these skills, we are strengthening community support systems and helping ensure that girls can attend school with confidence and dignity.
